The Mid-tier Commercial Office Buildings Pathway Project examines opportunities for improving energy productivity and efficiency in the medium-sized commercial office building sector.

The Department of Industry, Innovation and Science commissioned the Green Building Council of Australia to undertake the project. The council found that while A-grade commercial office buildings were quick to implement energy-efficiency upgrades, the mid-tier sub-sector has significantly lagged behind. A number of opportunities exist to influence energy upgrades for mid-tier office buildings.

Two reports on the study are available for download as PDFs:

It is intended the reports will be used by industry and government to guide and inform the development of future policies and programs, including through the National Energy Productivity Plan.
